All About Green

The word “green” is referring not only to the colour, but eco-consciousness and it’s true back and forth. If you see a green company logo your brain probably expects an environmentally friendly product or service.
Back in the 90’s in some countries (including mine), “greens” was considered a radical, extremist group which made crazy things for the environment. (Don’t forget, that back in those days people weren’t aware of the destruction of the planet). However, in the last 10 years there was a huge hype around going green. Today in 2023 everyone is trying to show their green face to the public, to calm down consumers’ conscience, even if the company itself isn’t too environmentally conscious. Even huge companies began to embrace green recently in an effort to emphasise their steps to go green, although those steps may be quite small. Just think of McDonald’s transition from red and yellow to green and yellow in European countries.
This is why I think that the positive, environmentally friendly aspect of green is slowly getting demolished by “not absolutely green” companies by using green only for greenwashing. But don’t be afraid! You still can use colour green or even other colours for your really green business: what really matters is communication and interpretation of your values.
